What's New?
This weeks launcher update brings quality of life upgrades for Game Masters, to help them identify players, record issues and improve customer experience.
Player Voice Meter
The team has implemented a Player Voice Meter into the GM UI, to help game masters identify players and to know which players are speaking.
- When players speak, a new microphone icon will appear beside their profile on the GM viewport
- A level meter will also appear - which increases as the player speaks louder.
- Note: Level meter is only accurate for Space Marine VR, Outbreak and FarCry VR experiences.
Troubleshoot and Session Notes buttons
The Troubleshoot button has moved to a new location - the bottom left corner of the GM interface, to make way for future UI improvements. Functionality of the Troubleshoot button remains unchanged.
There is now a new Session Notes button which exists to the right of the Troubleshoot button, allowing GM’s to add notes about the current session at any point during an experience, without needing to wait for the game to end.
- Session notes get automatically added to the End of Session Rating window.
- This means that GM’s can now enter information as they happen, without wasting previous end of experience operational time.
A future update will add these session notes to the correlating session in the portal.
Head is in sleep mode smarts
Often when suiting up, players can accidently put a headset to sleep by gently tapping the power button at the back of the headset. Unfortunately GM’s can’t tell when this has happened, and players just see a black screen.
We have improved our headset issue detection system to now detect when a headset has been put to sleep, and it will now display a warning message in the player viewport on the GM Launcher.
This improves the operational flow and customer experience by reducing the friction of getting suited up and into an experience quickly.
There are more GM UI improvements in the pipeline, so stay tuned for future launcher releases so your team can take advantage of the improvements as they come in.
