Release Notes - Launcher 4.15 Follow
Introduction
This week’s Launcher 4.15 release introduces an important new process for HTC Focus 3 headsets only.
What's New?
Headset Camera Calibration
HTC Focus 3 headsets automatically calibrate their tracking cameras during operational downtime. These automated calibrations help maintain precise tracking and improve the quality of map scanning.
This has always existed - however now we’re making sure that the headset which is used for map scanning - has also had a recent calibration, maximizing chances of building an accurate map.
What is Headset Camera Calibration?
Each HTC Focus 3 headset includes four outward-facing tracking cameras - one on each corner of the headset. Over time, with regular use, minor bumps or drops can cause the cameras to shift slightly. Even a small shift can reduce tracking accuracy, so periodic recalibration is essential to ensure the headset continues to perform at its best.
How It Works
Headset camera calibrations happen automatically and require no user action. They can also be triggered manually if required.
During regular operations, the headset will automatically capture environmental images in the background while being word, without affecting gameplay.
When the headset is placed into sleep mode, it will use up to 15 minutes of downtime to process these images and recalibrate its tracking cameras.
If the headset is woken up before calibration is complete, the process will automatically retry the next time it is worn and enters sleep mode afterwards.
This ensures headset performance remains consistent without interrupting live sessions.
Note: With this update, when performing a game space map scan, you may be prompted to use a different headset if the selected one hasn’t completed a recent camera calibration. This ensures the scan is performed with the most accurate tracking data available.

Manual Calibration
If you need to perform a manual calibration, you can follow the step-by-step instructions in the Headset Camera Calibration Guide available on Zendesk.
