Introduction

Today's Launcher 4.25 update brings a set of upgrades to give Game Masters cleaner alerts, better visibility of headset connection quality, stronger safeguards around live sessions, and continued reliability improvements to Player Takeaway Videos.

New Wifi link statistics in the Hardware view

The advanced hardware view now shows three new Wifi link statistics in the Connection column, so you can see at a glance how each headset is performing on your network:

• Wifi Speed - the negotiated Wifi link speed (Mbps)

• Rx - headset receive rate (Mbps)

• Tx - headset transmit rate (Mbps)

This unlocks quicker diagnosis if a headset incurs streaming issues, and clearer details to share with Client Services if something looks unusual.

Stronger live session safeguards

We've tightened up how the Launcher handles live games to reduce the chance of mid-session mishaps:

• If a headset becomes active during a running game and doesn't have a profile assigned, the game will now automatically pause until that's resolved.

• If there are no active headsets, the Launcher will pause the running game rather than letting it continue without players.

• Sessions can no longer be changed or cleared while a game is in progress. The experience must first be in a stopped state before changes can be made.

• A new message now appears on the Game Master screen if the Launcher loses its connection to the Content Server, so you can act on it immediately rather than discovering it later

These updates improve session reliability and bring faster awareness when something needs Game Master attention.

Automatic handedness detection

The Launcher now detects left or right handedness automatically in-game. As a heads-up, we'll soon be removing the handedness field from the sign-in tablet and portal, allowing for faster, smoother check-in flows.

Bug Fixes

• Player labels now stay correct after using the Find Player option (no more "NO NAME").

• Controllers now remain paired to their wearable set in Hardware Manager.

• The Minimise button now properly minimises the Launcher and any running games.

• Reliability improvements for Player Takeaway Videos, including more robust IRL camera capture.
