Haunted: Experience Information Follow
What is it?
A 15-minute adventure where players must escape a terrifying house before it’s too late.
Duration: 15 minutes total (11–13 minutes active gameplay)
Players: 1–8 (optimal with 2+)
Languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Arabic
About the experience
"Haunted" is Zero Latency’s first haunted house experience, placing players in a desperate race to escape before the demon claims them.
A mysterious voice urges them to stay together, but the house itself conspires to separate them. Whenever they are divided, the demon strikes with terrifying jump scares.
The journey builds toward a chilling finale, where players discover the truth: there is no escape—and the demon delivers its final, inevitable attack.
Important for operations
Unique Loadout: Players stand on a waypoint (in front of their name) to start.
Player Names Hidden: Names are invisible during gameplay for immersion; only visible to the Game Master (GM) on the Launcher.
Balanced for Groups: Experience is designed for 2+ players. Solo players may access more content, so gameplay may run slightly longer.
Variable Length: Fast groups may finish in ~11 minutes, though this is rare for first-time players.
Hard Stop at 13 Minutes: The ending sequence triggers automatically at 13 minutes of unpaused playtime.
How the experience works
The Experience unfolds from a central room we call the Hub, where players leave for events and then return.
- Event Doors open from the central Hub, inviting players into different rooms of the house.
- An Event is marked “complete” once players experience it from start to finish.
- Completed Events cannot be replayed.
- If an Event is abandoned (no one enters or players drop out), it may re-open at the system’s discretion.
- Once all Events are complete, or if the timer reaches 13 minutes of unpaused playtime, the Ending Sequence will trigger. The Timer starts when players first arrive in the Basement.
The sequence of events
The following details the events for players from start to finish in the Experience.
1. Starting Area – Basement to Hub
- Players begin in two groups, moving through a dark Basement into the Hub (Kitchen + Dining).
- Radio narration sets the scene: “The doors will open soon…”
2. First Set of Events
- There are two unique events first offered as an easy level of scare factor. This is the only time where 2 players will be left in the Hub - but those players will still experience the demon.
-
Lounge Event (Max 4 players)
- Players enter, becoming invisible to each other.
- TV switches on showing a demon under the table.
- Multiple scare moments follow.
-
Upstairs Event (Max 2 players)
- Passage leads upstairs to Office/Bathroom.
- At the stairs’ top, adult demon appears at the bottom, pursuing.
- Inside, players are separated and encounter scares.
- Exit is via a corridor with windows.
3. Second Set of Events
- Hub darkens, becomes more decayed.
-
Child’s Room
- Corridor door creaks open; jump scare when first player approaches.
- Inside: players become invisible to each other; bedroom scares unfold.
-
Basement / Mannequin
This event has two sub-areas that split players.
The entry room triggers the split: some players are sent into the Basement, and the door closes behind them, separating the group.
Once the Basement players leave the hallway, the door reopens, revealing the Mannequin event to the players left behind.
If only one player enters, the system randomly assigns them to either the Basement or the Mannequin.
4. Third Set of Events
- The two events are the same experience - A Bedroom.
- Hub lighting shifts to red.
-
Bedroom Event (Red Lit)
- Players descend into a red-lit passageway.
- Inside: players become invisible to each other, pulsing lights with heartbeat.
- Demon lunges at crescendo; final jump scare follows seconds later.
5. Ending Sequence
- Radio narration: “The doors will no longer open…”
- Hub lights flicker on and off.
- Players transported to a black void with blue fog; cannot see each other.
- Final scare and narration.
- “The End” displayed on completion.
Player highlight video
Haunted will produce a highlight video for players.
- It will not show any gameplay to avoid spoilers - and is only the real world clips.
- It will show a clip for all events players experience - a total of 6 scares. Each clip is timed at the main jumpscare of the event.
- If players do not experience an event for any reason, the game will just record a backup clip of players at a point in time.
