What should I expect?

Orders are shipped under the incoterm Delivered at Place (DAP). This means you will be contacted by the carrier to pay for any duties and taxes required.
When you receive the bill from the freight agent, you should check it thoroughly to ensure that the equipment is categorized correctly. This categorization is country-specific and impacts the amount of tax and duties you will be asked to pay. Verifying this will ensure you are being charged the right amount for the equipment. There have been times where incorrect invoices have been issued.
Check the paperwork and ensure the items are classified correctly. For example, check that something like a "Heavy Metal Headset" has not been classified under "Headphones".
Pay the invoice so the equipment can be released from customs. The carrier may charge holding fees if the invoice is not paid and the goods have to be held for longer than expected.

Each country has a different tax-free threshold and different regulations.
It's a good idea to place one large order instead of multiple small ones as there are processing fees for each shipment.
