Step 9B: Set up your Scoreboard Follow
A guide for operators setting up the Scoreboard to display player scores post-session—whether using a Smart TV or Spectator Machine.
Purpose & When to Use
Use this article to configure and display the Scoreboard. The Scoreboard lets players relive their final moments, compare stats, and celebrate wins—amplifying the thrill of the experience.
Tools & Equipment Required
- Smart TV with internet browser
- Portal Access
- Spectator Machine (if Smart TV fails)
- Display Port to HDMI Cable (ACTIVE if over 10m/33ft)
Steps
Option 1: Use a Smart TV
The simplest way to display scores to players is directly via your Smart TV browser. However, Smart TVs vary wildly in how they handle websites—so while some will run the Scoreboard smoothly, others might misformat or fail to load it at all. If that happens, switch to the Spectator Machine. It ensures your players get the end-of-session thrill of seeing their scores displayed clearly—without any last-minute tech fumbles.
- On the Smart TV browser, navigate to portal.zerolatencyvr.com and sign in.
- Click the Scoreboard link on the Sessions page.
- A new tab will open displaying the Scoreboard.
For information on how to modify scores displayed on the Scoreboard, see this article.
Option 2: Use the Spectator Machine
If the Smart TV doesn’t cut it, the Spectator Machine can be your ace fallback. Here’s how to give your players the finish they deserve:
- Connect a Display Port to HDMI cable to a free Display Port output on the Spectator Machine.
- Connect the HDMI end to the Scoreboard TV.
- Switch the TV input to the HDMI source.
- On the Spectator Machine, press Windows + P and select Extend to activate dual display.
- Open a browser window on the Scoreboard screen and go to portal.zerolatencyvr.com.
- Log in and click the Scoreboard link from the Sessions page.
Troubleshooting
- If: The Smart TV browser doesn't format the Scoreboard — Then: Use the Spectator Machine and an HDMI connection.
- If: No display on the TV — Then: Confirm the TV is set to the correct HDMI input and that the cable is functional.
