How can I create a Google Analytics 4 Property? Follow
Introduction
By completing this guide, venues will have created their Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property which can be configured to receive event data from the booking portal by following the How do I set up Google Analytics to receive Google Tag Manager tags? document.

Step 1: Create the Google Analytics 4 Account
Step 2: Get the GA4 Measurement ID & Drop it in Google Tag Manager
Step 3: Invite the Zero Latency Marketing Account
Step 1: Create the Google Analytics 4 Account
- Go to Google Analytics.
- Sign in to the Google account that you will be using to create and access the Google Analytics 4 property. If you do not already have a Google account, create one following these instructions.
- If the email used to login does not already have a Google Analytics account that’s accessible within it, click on Start Measuring and skip to step 7, otherwise go to the next step.
- If the email used to login already has access to a Google Analytics account, go to Admin.
- If a Google Analytics account already exists for the business for which you will be setting up this new property for, then click on Create Property and go to step 8, otherwise go to the next step.
- If a Google Analytics account does not already exists for the business for which you will be setting up this new property for, then click on Create Account.
- Set the Account name to a name that is descriptive of your business name and click Next.
- For example “Zero Latency [Venue Name]”.
- Set the Property Name to be your venue code followed by your venue name. For example “ZL-SS North Melbourne”.
- Select the Reporting Time Zone to the timezone of your venue.
- Select the Currency as appropriate for your venue.
- Click Next.
- Select the industry to Games and the Business size to the size that best reflects your venue’s operations.
- Click Next.
- Select all business objectives (except Other business objectives):
- Click Create.
- Select the Terms of Service appropriate to your country and Accept.
- You will be taken to the Set up a data stream screen.
- Select Web.
- Enter the Website URL as https://booking.zerolatencyvr.com/ and the Stream name as Booking Engine.
- Click Create Stream.
- A new screen called Web Stream details will appear and an additional screen with installation instructions will also appear. Feel free to close them.
- Your Google Analytics 4 property is now created.
Step 2: Get the GA4 Measurement ID & Drop it in Google Tag Manager
- Click the Booking Engine property below:
- Once opened, you will find details similar to below:
- Copy the Measurement ID shown.
- Go to your Google Tag Manager account & open the Variables tab.
- Look for the variable named Google Analytics 4 Measurement ID. Open this and replace the value with your GA4 measurement ID:
- Click Save.
- Publish this change by clicking the Submit button on the top right of the Google Tag Manager window:
Step 3: Invite the Zero Latency Marketing Account
- Invite a new user marketing_admin@zerolatencyvr.com to your account with Read permissions for all the properties in your account.
- This will permit Zero Latency HQ to review the data feeds during marketing consultations.
- Go to Admin, then Account Access Management, click the blue 'plus' symbol and then 'Add User'
- Copy in the marketing_admin@zerolatencyvr.com email address and select the Viewer role at a minimum
- If you think you might want help from Marketing in the future with trouble shooting, setting up reports etc then choose a higher role (eg. Analyst, Marketer or Editor)
- Then click Add
