Threat: Lethal FAQs Follow
Introduction
This article provides answers to frequently asked questions for Space Marine VR - Threat: Lethal.
FAQs
Why are we offering Threat: Lethal?
We believe this version of the game is more fun and collaborative, with real stakes that make every accomplishment feel meaningful, as players work together. It also has strong potential as an upsell for regular Space Marine VR customers and could drive a higher repeat play rate than our standard mode.
Why do you recommend the 45 minute version?
This gives players the best chance to complete the experience. A common request from customers is for more time, and this gives them just that. It also allows you to be strategic with your pricing. e.g. repeat players would love to play a 45 minute experience for the price of 30
I don’t normally offer 45 minute packages normally, how will this impact me?
Using our new Booking System feature to set session intervals, this will have minimal impact.
We've added a feature that lets you set fixed booking increments, ensuring bookings are only offered every 15, 30 or 60 minutes. The 15-minute option will likely work best for most, as it maximizes sessions, while keeping session start times easy to remember.
This makes scheduling simpler too - so you can confidently add 45-minute packages without complicating session times.
Is Threat: Lethal too hard for some customers?
Initially customers may have a challenging time, however the game will quickly balance itself. The game will balance itself to be the same difficulty or even easier than regular Space Marine VR.
What should I do if customers finish the game early?
On a first playthrough, customers are unlikely to finish much earlier than the allotted time. Even skilled players will find it challenging, as the game adjusts the difficulty dynamically—ramping up when they perform well and easing off when needed.
For players who return and master the experience, it's possible to finish faster. However, the absolute fastest time is 27:30—achievable only by the most skilled teams.
The key to earning the highest score is finishing early, so encourage groups aiming for this to track their progress against the leaderboard. The better players perform, the more enemies they face, and the higher their score!
Like escaping a puzzle room early, finishing early is simply part of the experience, and no additional VR time is necessary.
What is the experience for customers who run out of time and don’t finish the game?
We've designed the game to give players a sense of achievement throughout. Every time they succeed in an encounter, they receive a rewarding "Checkpoint Secured." These mini wins help keep momentum high - and make running out of time feel less like a loss.
Players will get a time warning at both the 5-minute and 60-second marks. If time runs out, they'll see "Time Limit Reached," a neutral message that acknowledges their progress without mentioning failure. This approach keeps players feeling positive and motivated to try again, encouraging repeat play.
