Introduction
If you are encountering issues with your Headset(s), there are certain troubleshooting steps that you will need to complete to identify if the issue is software or hardware based.
When resetting the Headset to the HTC default settings, and it is found that the Headset is working as intended, this may indicate that the Zero Latency Software could be the cause.
The below will guide you through the process of Factory Resetting the Headset to the HTC default settings.

Step 1: Factory Reset the HTC Focus 3/Focus Vision

Option 1: Resetting the headset using the GM Launcher over the air
- Turn on the headset so that it is connected to the GM Launcher
- Visit the headset window on the GM Launcher
- Select the headset you'd like to Factory Reset
- As per image below, you will see a 'Factory Reset' button.
- Click on 'Factory Reset', and then 'Yes' on the popup window to begin the factory reset on the headset.
Warning: This will ERASE ALL THE DATA and you will have to complete headset setup over USB.
Option 2: Resetting the headset using the GM Launcher using a USB-C connection
- Turn on the headset
- Connect the to headset to the GM machine via USB-C
- Visit the Hardware setup window on the GM Launcher
- Select 'Setup headset' from the list
- You will see a 'Factory Reset' button.
- Click on 'Factory Reset', and then 'Yes' on the popup window to begin the factory reset on the headset.
Warning: This will ERASE ALL THE DATA and you will have to complete headset setup over USB.
Option 3: Resetting the headset manually, without using the GM Launcher
- Ensure the headset is turned off by holding the power button until the LED lights turn off.
- Boot the headset into the debug menu by holding the volume down and power buttons until you see the debug menu. Release these buttons immediately when the debug menu appears.
- Once the debug menu is displayed, use the volume down button to scroll to Factory Reset.
- Press the menu button on the side of the headset to initiate the Factory Reset process.

The Factory Reset process can take anywhere from 2-5 minutes to complete.
Step 2: Complete the Headset Setup
- Once the Factory Reset has been completed, you will be prompted with a Setup Headset screen.
- Hold the menu button on the side of the headset to start the setup.
- Using the headset menu button to select, aim the headset to choose the language.
- Complete each of the steps advised in the setup process. The following are each of the steps that you will need to complete:
- Volume adjustment
- Headset adjustment
- Lens spacing
- Pair the Tracker
- Select Wi-Fi (can be skipped)
- Accept HTC terms
- Health & Safety information
- Floor Height adjustment
- Create play area boundary
- Once the above has been completed, you will be prompted with a tutorial.
- Proceed with the tutorial until completed.
Step 3: Report your Findings
- If the headset is still not functioning correctly, continue following the steps outlined in How do I submit a support request for your HTC products? and create a support request to HTC.
