What is the difference between a Collection, Section, Label & Tag? Follow
Introduction
This article will explain the differences between collections, sections, labels and tags in Brandfolder.
Collections
Collections are a group of related assets in a Brandfolder. Collections allow you to custom-select which assets users should see and hide what they should not. This ensures that our users only have access to the assets they need and helps ensure that users are pulling from the right asset pool. Essentially, Collections provide the right assets to the right audience.
Currently, there are two collections:
- Head Office: this includes all assets that only employees of HO can access.
- Zero Latency: this includes all assets that Clients (venues) and HO are able to access.
Sections
Sections are the broadest way of organizing Assets in Brandfolder and typically represent deliverable types. For example, we have sections for Brands, Logos, Fonts, Images, Videos etc.
Labels
Labels represent “How/Where will an Asset be used”. These are structured as detailed below.
Tags
Tags are keywords that are assigned to files, that boost the discoverability of Assets for users searching via the Search Bar.
For example, search for the tag ‘social image’ to find static social content.
