Introduction
This guide should be followed after completing How do I set up Google Tag Manager (GTM)?.
By completing this guide, you will be able to receive Google Tag data in your Google Analytics dashboards.
Step 1: Configure the Analytics Settings for Cross-domain tracking
Step 2: Configure the Analytics Events Conversion Settings
Step 3: Updating the Data Retention Settings
Step 4: Invite the Zero Latency Marketing Account
Step 1: Configure the Analytics Settings for Cross-domain tracking
- Go to your Google Analytics 4 Account.
- Click Admin.
- Click on Data Streams.
- Click on your web data stream that should be named Booking Engine.
- Click on Configure tag settings.
- Click Configure Your Domains.
- Click Configuration.
- Click Add Condition.
- Type “http://zerolatencyvr.com”.
- Click Add Condition.
- Type in the domain name of your website.
- Click Save.
Step 2: Configure the Analytics Events Conversion Settings
- Go to your Google Analytics 4 Account.
- Go to Admin.
- Click Data Display, then Key Events.
- Click New Key Event.
- Add the following events as conversions;
- prospect_landed
- share_details
- Click Custom Definitions.
- Click Create Custom Definition.
- Add a custom dimensions listed in Appendix 1 of this document.
- Only the dimensions marked as required are required. However, the additional dimensions will provide you with additional dimensions that can be used whilst generating your reports.
- Click Audiences.
- Click New audience.
- Click Create a custom audience.
- Add a new custom audience with the following settings;
- Condition: Venue Code (under custom)
- Filter: Exactly Matches XX-XX (your venue code)
- Tick “At any point in time”
- Click Apply.
- Click Save.
Step 3: Updating the Data Retention Settings
- Click on Admin.
- Click Data collection and modification.
- Click Data retention.
- Select 14 months for Event data retention.
- Click Save.
Step 4: Invite the Zero Latency Marketing Account
- Invite marketing_admin@zerolatencyvr.com to your account with Read permissions for all the properties in your account.
- This will permit Zero Latency HQ to review the data feeds during marketing consultations.
