Understanding the Utilisation Dashboard Follow
Introduction
The Utilisation dashboard shows how much of your available capacity is actually being used. It looks at this two ways: Slot Utilisation (how full your scheduled slots are) and Open Time Utilisation (how much of your total open hours are booked). Together they tell you whether you have a demand problem, a scheduling problem, or neither.

Key Metrics
The cards at the top show Slot Utilisation, Booked Slots, Open Time Utilisation, and Booked Hours, each compared to the previous period.
Slot Utilisation
How full your scheduled slots run.
- Sessions, Booked Slots, and Total Slots - the raw numbers behind your slot utilisation percentage.
- Slot Utilisation Over Time - daily utilisation with the previous period alongside.
- Slot Utilisation by Day of Week - average fill rate per weekday.
- Slot Utilisation Heatmap - slot utilisation % by day of week and hour of day.
- Slot Utilisation by Package - how full each package's slots run.
Open Time Utilisation
How much of your total opening hours are booked.
- Total Open Hours, Booked Hours, Idle Bay Hours, and Sessions - the raw numbers behind your open time utilisation percentage.
- Open Time Utilisation Over Time - daily utilisation with the previous period alongside.
- Open Time Utilisation Heatmap - open time utilisation % by day of week and hour of day.
- Open Time Utilisation by Day of Week - average utilisation per weekday.
Combined Breakdown
Utilisation by GameSpace compares slot utilisation % and open time utilisation % for each of your game spaces, so you can see whether one arena is carrying more of the load than another.
Ways to Use This Dashboard
- Read Slot Utilisation and Open Time Utilisation together. High slot utilisation with low open time utilisation means the slots you offer fill well, but large parts of your open hours have nothing scheduled: there may be room to add slots in busy windows.
- Use the heatmaps to find your consistently empty hours. These are candidates for reduced opening hours, off-peak pricing, or targeted group bookings rather than staffed idle time.
- Idle Bay Hours is a direct cost signal. If it's climbing, check whether your open hours still match when customers actually book.
- Slot Utilisation by Package shows which packages reliably fill their slots. Packages that always hit 100% may support more slots or a price increase; packages that rarely fill may need fewer.
Filters
Use the controls at the top of the dashboard: Scope (This venue or All venues), Date range, Compare to, Group by, and Packages, plus the GameSpace selector to narrow the view to a single game space.
