Understanding the Return Players Dashboard Follow
Introduction
The Return Players dashboard shows how well your venue brings players back. It tracks your return rate, how new and returning players balance out over time, and how long players keep coming back after their first visit. Repeat players are usually your cheapest and most valuable customers, so this view helps you see whether loyalty is growing or slipping.

Key Metrics
The cards at the top show your headline loyalty numbers for the selected period, each compared to the previous period.
- Return Rate - the share of players in the period who had visited before.
- Returning Players - the number of players who had visited before.
- Total Unique Players - the number of individual players who visited, counted once each.
- Avg visits in period / returning player - how many times a returning player visited within the selected period.
Return Rate Over Time
Your return rate plotted across the selected range, with the previous period overlaid, so you can see whether loyalty is trending up or down.
New vs Returning Over Time
A stacked view of new and returning players per time bucket, with the previous period alongside. This shows how much of your daily traffic comes from first-time visitors versus players coming back.
Lifetime Visits
Players grouped by how many times they've visited in total (1, 2, 3-5, 6+), compared to the previous period. The subtitle shows your average lifetime visits per returning player. This tells you how deep your loyalty runs beyond a single return.
Return Rate
Two dial charts showing your return rate for the current period next to the previous period, for a quick at-a-glance comparison.
Returning Players by First Visit
Returning players grouped by how long ago they first visited (from less than a month through to 2 years or more), compared to the previous period. This shows whether the players coming back are recent first-timers or long-standing regulars.
Ways to Use This Dashboard
- Track Return Rate over time as your core loyalty measure. A steady decline is worth investigating: it can point to experiences going stale, service issues, or first visits not landing well.
- Read New vs Returning together. Heavy new traffic with few returns means you're good at attracting players but not at bringing them back, which is usually a cheaper problem to fix than finding new customers.
- Use Lifetime Visits to spot your true regulars. The players in the 3-5 and 6+ bands are your most loyal, and are good candidates for referral offers or membership perks.
- Use Returning Players by First Visit to see where loyalty comes from. A strong 2 years+ band shows lasting appeal; a strong recent band shows you're converting first-timers into returners right now.
